Indeed, wonderful! GPT-2 lets re.imagine the storytelling concepts. At the same time the nowadays popular stereotype “AI will kill the writers” is fully wrong, imho: writers can benefit from AI, being inspired and getting new topics, our human kind might never thing in that way. And AI will benefit from this collaboration being finetuned and trained.

I find this developments exciting. In a little experiment with the same Woolfe notebook I trained it on German (“Faust”) and on Russian (early work of Pushkin) — and it worked in some interesting ways:

while the German Cyber-Goethe remixed phrases, put them into mouth of other characters and made some fascinating Faust 3,

Russian version still couldn’t cope with Russian grammar — but it developed amazing neologisms, which would one only dream in some fever nights.

After all, GPT-2 is the beginning of a long journey between a human and a machine. And it will be a beautiful journey. Not always simple, often problematic, but inspiring for both parts.
