Amazing! Creating storytelling with kids using AI was exactly how we prepared with my daughter (second grader) an AI-powered book for the rest of a family, as a Christmas present (surprise!).

Astonishingly, we did almost the same:

  1. We used a GPT-2 Colab Notebook (alas, TalkToTransformer — my fav website, produces recently just short pieces of text — due to bandwidth issue or server costs) for longer texts. We tried a lot and choose the best texts with some slight human intervention in semantics.
  2. My daughter used GauGAN by NVidia for drawing, some images with ArtBreeder, and — human aspect — the rest she illustrated just with a pen.

This process was a lot of fun — my daughter has got more excited about AI-generated media, so we are trying out the newest GAN and Transformer models.

Actually, this sounds almost like a global project: kids and adults creating ART with AI.

And — you pointed out a crucial aspect: kids have less barriers against technology, they get digital and medial competence. Because if the schools don’t provide it — it’s up to us, parents!
